Wait for green signal - Do not alight buses at signal - Stop at stop line - Understand red, amber and green lights.

Drive only in one lane - Cross lane only with signal and when road is clear - At signal wait at the correct lane and well before stop line - Understand broken and unbroken white / yellow lines - Understand white shoulder line on edge of road. |
On public roads - Do not drive in triplets - Avoid over speeding / rash driving - Avoid zig zag driving - Avoid drink and driving - Avoid parallel driving - Avoid wheeling (front and back). |
Avoid using cell phone while driving - Do not use hands free sets or blue tooth devices of cell phone while driving, it is an offense - Talking on cell phone while driving is more dangerous than drunk driving - Attending call on cell phones while a Pillion rider holds it, is also an offense. |
Always use helmets while driving two wheelers - Data on your brain is very precious, Don't lose it - Always wear a well fit helmet - Chin strap the helmet fully fit - It is an offense not strapping the helmet - Pillion driver should also wear helmet. |

Competitions: On five Road Safety Rules - Violations and Remedy.
Stage competitions:
Mimicry, Dance (group & solo), Songs, Oratory (English / Tamil) - Theme - any of the five friendly road rules. Duration 3 minutes.

Indoor Competitions:
Painting (water colour) on Race driving Vs Rash driving, Essay Writing (English/Tamil) on reason and remedies on high fatality rate on road, Collage on Why so many people die on road and possible solutions. Written Quiz - Duration for painting 90 minutes, rest all other competition Duration is 60 minutes.
Outdoor Competitions:
OPEN TO ALL
Rangoli on road signs - you should explain in details the nature of road sign. Tug of war, Police hand signal No.4, Signal corner - Duration 30 minutes.
Display Competitions:
3D Modeling on a perfect model road. Photography on what you don't like on road and possible solution in a single A4 size paper. Collage on the status of today’s traffic and suitable solutions. Oil Painting on road crash victim and family.
Conditions for Participation:
- Only three competitions are permitted per college in Stage competitions.
- Stage competitions need pre-registration, registration can be done on web site www.trafficwardens.in or in the format available as enclosed.
- For dance, any number of participants can perform.
- Time limits specified must be strictly maintained. Exceeding participant will be rejected.
- In Stage competitions, a maximum of 70 participants only are permitted on a first come first served basis.
- Maximum participant per college allowed will be not more than 30
- One participant can participate in any number of competitions.
- Participant should carry a clear identification card issued by the college for registration, and shall bring their own lunch.
- Participants should come to the venue before 8.00 AM on the 20th February 2010.
- Winners will be announced and certificates issued on the same day of event.
- Pre-registration forms should be submitted on or before 17th February 2010.
