Worlds Largest Road Safety Show

Preview
It is always a dream for anybody to have a beautiful road full of green and flowers making their travel to work and back home pleasant. Hardly anyone will say no to this. However in practical we behave in contrast, we fail to believe that such scenario is possible only when there is tolerance, collective thinking, and continued efforts.
The tolerance level in various sections of people, directly depend on the level of acceptance of other's mistake. Continuous irregular movement of vehicular traffic increases frustrations leading to congestions and accidents.
We the Traffic Wardens Organisation of Coimbatore city, want very much to change this attitude of the general public and we understand that such attempts need to be more interestingly innovative and with direct public participation.
“Ananda Salai” is the new initiative of the Traffic Wardens attempting to educate large number of people on road safety aspects and as well an attempt to create a Guinness World Record for Coimbatore city.
I believe this collective effort of the city will for sure make the Change we all dream, come true.

Who we are.....
Tamilnadu Police Traffic Wardens Organisation (TPTWO) in Coimbatore was commissioned in the year 1987. Being a government run purely voluntary Organisation the primary duty of the wardens is to inculcate traffic sense among public and to assist the traffic police in traffic education. The Organisation is headed by the Chief Traffic Warden and directed by the Commissioner of Police and the Dy. Commissioner of Police, Crime & Traffic.
The Traffic Wardens are involved in various activities such as promoting Road Safety Patrol in city schools and conducting road safety classes and competitions to all sections of public in addition to their regular traffic duty scheduled twice weekly in peak hours at important pedestrian dominated junctions. The popular theme “Add Smiles on Coimbatore's Roads” of the wardens has received exceptional recognition from all sections of public, as it tries to link a social responsibility to self esteem of an individual and the results are seen to be positive attitude changes. In short all activities of the Traffic Wardens are seen practical and result oriented.

Add smiles on Coimbatore's roads
While driving we always reflect our state of mind in a subconscious level. When our mindset is angry or upset or in any other emotionally driven state, we naturally tend to ventilate them thro our actions resulting in frustrations and confused behavior. This is the cause we believe is behind the current irresponsible driving scenario in city roads.
If a person could start enjoying a drive he/she will naturally only reflect smile and cheer. There may not be accidents or anger, as this state of mind will allow only behavior such as adjustments and giving way to fellow road users.
As well a positive attitude towards road rules will easily lead us to a safer zone as all these road rules are so user friendly. We believe our efforts in education will play a major role if these aspects are rightly emphasized with direct public participation.
Smiles are simple subjects that can go miles, we are sure this will go thro any hurdles and will certainly reach our target audience and changes can sure be expected. All it needs is that we need to believe and take a humble step forward, happily while driving. Feeling good? Just be happy day after day. Coimbatore will smile you back.
