Rapid industrial growth has seen huge increase in vehicular population in Coimbatore city. To cater to such large growth and to propagate road safety among the public, students from college and schools I invite responsible and socially conscious citizens to join the Traffic Wardens Organisation, an initiative of the Tamilnadu Police Department. The Traffic Wardens Organisation is a government run, non-profit and purely voluntary Organisation. If you can spare few hours of time every week and if you wish to save lives and are between 25 to 45 of age, this is a call of honour, you are welcome to join the Traffic Wardens Organisation.
As a Traffic Warden you can
- Serve as an officer with pride in police uniform,
- Work closely with the police department,
- Can help regulate traffic at specific points on peak hours (two hours - twice weekly),
- Can directly provide solutions for city’s traffic problems,
- Can guide and educate citizens of Coimbatore on responsible driving on the city roads,
- Involve in enrolling and training Road Safety Patrol students from schools and colleges,
- Promote road safety among drivers,
- Have exposure to various public departments
- Have interaction with the Commissioner of Police etc.,

Many lives can be saved by your effort. You will be provided with complete training and an identity card. Special short time service option is also available to serve for a year or two for aspiring graduates who are pursuing Public Service examination, career in Defense, Police etc.

ELIGIBILITY FOR JOINING: 
1) To be a citizen of India and ordinarily reside in Coimbatore,
2) To be physically fit and not be below 25 years or above 45 years of age,(Exemptions subject to conditions)
3) Not take active part in politics,
4) To have fair knowledge of Tamil and English,
5) To be willing and able to render voluntary and non-remunerative service to the government for a minimum of 4 hours (Evening 6:00 to 8:00 PM twice in a week) with a minimum of 80% attendance.
6) To be in a position to purchase at his/her own cost the uniform, equipment and badges,
7) Not to be an officer of any regular or auxiliary military unit or essential service or held any honorary rank.
8) Not have been convicted of any offence by any court of law.
