Tamilnadu Police Traffic Wardens Organisation in Coimbatore was commissioned in the year 1987. Being a purely voluntary Organisation the primary duty of the wardens is to inculcate traffic sense among public and assist the traffic police in traffic education.

The Organisation is headed by the Chief Traffic Warden and directed by the Commissioner of Police and the Dy. Commissioner of Police, Crime & Traffic.
